Ernst Brothers in Spring House, PA is seeking a Staff Accountant who prides itself on accuracy and construction industry know‑how. You will manage daily accounting for multiple entities across several states, closing books, and keeping project financials up to date.

Working directly with the Controller and CFO, you will handle requisitions, payables, payroll support, and financial reporting while upholding precision and dependable timelines across the build portfolio of new homes and renovations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of construction accounting experience.
• Detail-oriented with accurate bookkeeping.
• Experience managing multi-entity finances across states.
• Ability to reconcile accounts and prepare reports.

Responsibilities

• Enter monthly client requisitions and post daily cash receipts.
• Process project accounts payable, including materials and subcontracts.
• Enter and reconcile credit card charges.
• Collect and review Certificates of Insurance from subcontractors.
• Analyze and reconcile project financials, prepare financial reports, and maintain vehicle fleet records.
• Assist the Controller and CFO with semi-monthly payroll, audits, and special projects.

This isn't a role where you'll just move numbers from one screen to another.

You'll work directly with our Controller and CFO, managing day-to-day accounting for multiple entities across several states and keeping the project financials behind our custom homes, renovations, and additions accurate and up to date.

What You'll Be Trusted to Do

As a Staff Accountant, you'll own the daily accounting work that keeps our projects and our company running smoothly, while building deep expertise in construction finance.

• Enter monthly client requisitions and post daily cash receipts.
• Process project accounts payable, including materials and subcontracts.
• Enter and reconcile credit card charges.
