This Staff Accountant role is critical to maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the company’s financial records, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations, and supporting the financial health of the organization.

What You’ll Actually Do

• Journal Entries: Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring accuracy and appropriate supporting documentation.
• Reconciliations: Perform monthly bank reconciliations and general ledger account reconciliations.
• Financial Closings: Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial closings.
• Asset Management: Maintain fixed asset and prepaid account records, including calculating depreciation and amortization.
• Reporting & Audit Support: Prepare financial reports, schedules, and supporting documentation for audits.

The Must-Haves

• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field (e.g., Business with an Accounting concentration) with a strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Experience: Up to 2 years of general accounting experience, which may include internships, co-ops, or academic research roles.
• Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software, coupled with excellent attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
• Bonus: Experience with ERP systems (such as Sage or NetSuite) or CPA candidate / CPA certification.
