What You’ll Actually Do
- Manage Core Accounting: Prepare and record journal entries to ensure an accurate and timely month-end close.
- Ensure Data Accuracy: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts in accordance with GAAP and internal policies, researching and resolving variances as needed.
- Support Financial Reporting: Assist with the preparation of internal financial statements, management reports, and required regulatory filings.
- Facilitate Audits: Support internal and external audit requests by preparing necessary schedules and providing supporting documentation.
- Drive Process Improvements: Participate in special projects and initiatives to improve accounting processes, accuracy, and efficiency, collaborating with various teams.
The Must-Haves
- Background: High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred. Possesses a strong understanding of basic accounting principles and GAAP.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience in a corporate or public accounting environment. Direct experience with general ledger accounting, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close is essential.
- Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office, strong organizational skills, detail-oriented with analytical and problem-solving abilities, and effective written and verbal communication.
- Bonus: Experience with accounting systems. Demonstrates a collaborative team player mindset with a willingness to learn, grow, and take on increasing responsibility.
