Job summary

Marquee Staffing in Signal Hill, CA is seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to handle daily accounting and bookkeeping, keeping the books accurate, current, and organized.

The role includes managing the general ledger, reconciling AP/AR, entering vendor bills and customer payments, reconciling bank and credit card accounts, preparing journal entries, assisting with monthly and year-end close, tracking cash flow, and preparing reports for CPAs and auditors. QuickBooks experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• 5-10 years of experience as a bookkeeper or accountant.
• Strong knowledge of General Ledger, AP, AR, reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close.
• Ability to find and fix accounting errors and meet deadlines.

Staff Accountant Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Staff Accountant to handle the company's daily accounting and bookkeeping work. This person will help keep the company's books accurate, current, and organized.

Location: Signal Hill

Main Job Duties

• Manage and update the General Ledger.
• Review and reconcile Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).
• Enter vendor bills and customer payments.
• Reconcile bank and credit card accounts.
• Prepare and enter journal entries.
• Help with monthly and year-end closing.
• Track customer payments and help with collections.
• Schedule and process vendor payments.
• Enter and review payroll-related transactions.
• Help track company cash flow.
• Prepare basic reports for management.
• Help with budgets and financial reports.
• Find and fix accounting errors or differences.
• Help with sales tax and other business filings.
• Prepare reports and records for CPAs, tax professionals, and auditors.
• Keep company and employee information private and secure.

Required Qualifications

• 5-10 years of experience as a Bookkeeper or Accountant.
• Good knowledge of: General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Bank and credit card reconciliations, Journal entries, Month-end closing.
• Able to find and fix accounting errors.
• Able to meet deadlines and work with little supervision.
• Experience with QuickBooks or other accounting software.
• Able to handle private company and employee information.
• Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field is preferred, but strong work experience may be accepted instead.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or inventory-based businesses.
• Experience working in a larger accounting department or CPA firm.
• Experience with QuickBooks Online.
