Qualifications

  • Experience with ERP accounting software (Microsoft Business Central) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare journal entries and supporting docs for monthly close.
  • Assist in monthly and quarterly closings with precision and deadlines.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts and explain discrepancies to management.
  • Prepare and process customer invoices per contracts and policies.
  • Manage cash, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, and other balance sheet accounts.
  • Prepare audit documentation and assist auditors during the process.
  • Provide ad-hoc reporting and analyses to support decisions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the organization’s month-end close, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and annual audit activities. This position offers the opportunity to gain broad exposure across corporate accounting, financial reporting, operational accounting, and professional sports finance while partnering with multiple departments throughout the organization.

We are seeking an analytical, curious, and collaborative accounting professional who enjoy improving processes, leveraging technology, and taking ownership of accounting responsibilities. Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Prepare journal entries and support documentation for the monthly close process.
  • Assist in monthly and quarterly financial closings, ensuring deadlines are met with precision.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts and resolve discrepancies, providing clear explanations to management.
  • Prepare and process customer invoices in accordance with contractual agreements and organizational policies.
  • Manage accounting for cash, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, and other assigned balance sheet accounts
  • Prepare supporting documentation for financial audits and assist auditors during the process.
  • Provide ad-hoc reporting and analysis to support decision-making within the organization.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Abilities and Skills:
  • Precision in recording, analyzing, and verifying financial transactions to ensure accuracy
  • Ability to detect discrepancies or errors in financial data and make necessary adjustments
  • Ability to analyze complex financial data and identify trends, issues, and patterns
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely
  • High integrity and discretion in handling sensitive information
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and commitment to professional growth and development
Education and Experience:
  • At least 2-4 years’ relevant work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2+ years of accounting or audit experience required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; intermediate knowledge of Excel (pivots, lookups, etc.); experience with ERP accounting software, preferably Microsoft Business Central.

Compensation:

$80,000 - $85,000 annually
