Job summary

RBC Bearings Incorporated in Santa Ana, CA, is seeking an Accountant to support monthly closings and ensure accurate financial reporting for the division.

You will prepare and post journal entries, coordinate balance sheet and P&L analyses, assist with audits, manage fixed assets, budgets, policies, internal controls, and tax reporting, contributing to reliable and compliant financial operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and 2–7+ years of exempt level experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of accounting and auditing principles and governmental budgeting, reporting, taxation.
• Strong Excel skills required; fixed asset software exposure is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist monthly closings and production of financial statements to ensure timely reporting.
• Prepare, verify and post journal entries to the General Ledger.
• Coordinate monthly balance sheet and P&L analyses and reconciliations, including intercompany activity.
• Assist in coordination and preparation of financial audits.
• Maintain division fixed asset system.
• Assist in preparing the annual budget and related reports.
• Review financial policies and procedures as necessary.
• Assist with internal controls and Sarbanes–Oxley compliance.
• Assist in the preparation of various tax reporting requirements.

Job Title/Location:

Principal Responsibilities:

• Assists in monthly closing and production of financial statements to guarantee timely reporting and ensure the information reported properly reflects the division’s financial position.
• Prepares, verifies and controls the entering of journal entries to the General Ledger
• Coordinates the completion and review of the monthly balance sheet and profit and loss statement account analyses and reconciliations, including intercompany activity.
• Assists in the coordination and preparation of financial audits as required by outside auditors.
• Maintains division fixed asset system
• Assists in the preparation of the annual budget and coordinating the completion of various required reports.
• Assists in the review of financial policies and procedures, as necessary.
• Assists with implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures in accordance with Sarbanes Oxley.
• Assists in the preparation of various tax reporting requirements

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree Accounting with 2 to 7+ years of exempt level experience in a manufacturing environment or any combination of experience, education and training which would provide the level of knowledge, skill, and ability required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge:

• Accounting and auditing principles and practices
• Principles of governmental financial administration including budgeting, reporting, taxation and revenue.

Skills:

• Ability to operate computers and various software programs.
• Strong Excel skills a must. Fixed Asset Software exposure desirable.

Abilities:

• Examining and verifying financial documents and reports
• Communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
• Prepare a variety of financial statements, reports and analyses.
• Supervise, train and evaluate clerical and technical employees.
