Job summary

Gilder Search Group is seeking a Staff Accountant to join a small accounting team in Rancho Santa Fe. You will work directly with the Senior Accountant and outside CPA, receiving mentorship to grow toward a Senior Accountant role.

The role involves supporting the accounting function from reconciliations to payroll, with on-site training and opportunities to advance as you gain hands-on experience.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of debits, credits, and GAAP accounting concepts.
• Prior experience with Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to work full time in the office in Rancho Santa Fe.

Responsibilities

• Support accounts payable functions including receiving invoices, processing payables and preparing vendor payments.
• Perform account reconciliations of all accounts including bank accounts, credit card statements and general ledger accounts.
• Enter financial transactions and journal entries into the ERP system.
• Assist with month end financial close procedures including adjusting journal entries.
• Support payroll processing.

Staff Accountant – Your Job Duties

You will work in support of the Senior Accountant and alongside an Accounting Clerk to keep the accounting operations moving, touching everything from account reconciliations to financial close, journal entries, payroll and more.

You will:

• Support accounts payable functions including receiving invoices, processing payables and preparing vendor payments
• Perform account reconciliations of all accounts including bank accounts, credit card statements and general ledger accounts
• Enter financial transactions and journal entries into the ERP system
• Assist with month end financial close procedures including adjusting journal entries
• Support payroll processing

Staff Accountant – You Have (Required Skills, Experience & Team Fit)

You have:

• Knowledge of debits, credits, and GAAP accounting concepts (through your education or prior on the job experience)
• Prior experience with Microsoft Excel
• Ability to work full time in the office in Rancho Santa Fe

You might have:

• Prior experience with Spectrum ERP accounting software
• Prior experience in the construction industry
• Prior experience processing accounts payable or payroll

Staff Accountant – Benefits for You

Your pay range will be $30 to $40 per hour, depending on your experience.

You will work 100% on site in Rancho Santa Fe. Medical, dental and insurance options provided with company contribution, unlimited time off and 401k.

Prior to your first day, you will complete a drug test. You will receive an additional hour of pay in your first paycheck to compensate you for the time spent completing the test.
