Job summary

Leviat is seeking a Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting for multiple manufacturing facilities, including month-end close, SOX controls, and cost analysis. You will work with site and functional managers to ensure compliant processes and drive improvements.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, 3+ years of accounting experience, GAAP knowledge, and advanced MS Office skills. Dynamics 365 ERP experience and manufacturing cost accounting are a plus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
  • 3+ years of experience in a financial/accounting role.
  • GAAP knowledge required.
  • Advanced MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) required.
  • ERP experience, preferably Dynamics 365, is a plus.
  • Manufacturing cost accounting experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage account reconciliation process for multiple accounts including banks, disbursements, and payroll accounts.
  • Participate in month-end, quarterly and annual financial closing cycles.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts and ensure timely clearing of reconciling items.
  • Assist in preparing tax filings and supporting documentation; SOX control compliance.
  • Prepare and analyze journal entries; support audits and internal controls.
  • Assist with cost analysis and special projects; ad hoc analysis.
  • Support travel & expense system to ensure policy compliance.

  • Position OverviewThe Staff Accountant supports day to day accounting activities for multiple manufacturing facilities. Responsibilities include assisting with month end closing, SOX controls, cost analysis, sales tax filing and general support of the finance team. This position will work closely with the sites and functional managers to ensure processes and procedures are in place and are followed while seeking actionable improvement opportunities.Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)To perform this job satisfactorily, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Manage account reconciliation process for multiple accounts including banks, disbursements, and payroll accounts Participate in month-end, quarterly and annual financial closing cycles Reconcile general ledger accounts with various registers and sub-ledgers and ensure timely clearing of all reconciling items Assist in preparing tax filings and supporting documentation Collect and manage documentation to adhere to SOX control compliance Prepare and analyze journal entries Ability to learn multiple processes and aid in backup supportManage travel & expense system to support users and ensure policy compliance
  • Support cost control initiatives to improve efficiency and profitability
  • Ensure timeliness and accuracy of financial tasks Assist with external and internal control audits Assist in special projects as neededPerform ad hoc analysis.
  • Education/ExperienceBachelor’s degree in accounting or finance related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in a similar Financial or Accounting role
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Advanced MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint and Word) Excellent analytical and problem-solving skillsDynamics 365 ERP experience a plus.
  • Solid understanding of generally accepted accounting principlesDemonstrated awareness of all elements of a division’s financial statements
  • Strong attention to detail, producing high-quality products and meeting deadlines
  • Manufacturing industry & cost accounting experience
