Job summary

Dover Corporation's Microwave Products Group (MPG) is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our growing manufacturing organization in Salisbury, Maryland. You will support the accounting team with general ledger entries, month-end close, inventory and cost accounting, and cross-functional collaboration with operations and production.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and 2–5 years of manufacturing accounting experience, strong Excel, and GAAP

• 2–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing or industrial environments.
• Understanding of GAAP and basic cost accounting principles.
• Experience with ERP systems.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain general ledger journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
• Support inventory accounting, including cycle counts, inventory adjustments, and reconciliation of inventory accounts.
• Assist with cost accounting functions including labor, overhead allocation, and product costing analysis.
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, prepaid expenses, accruals, and fixed assets.
• Analyze manufacturing variances and provide explanations to management.
• Prepare financial reports and schedules for internal management review.
• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed.
• Support internal audits and compliance reporting.
• Maintain internal controls and ensure adherence to accounting policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with operations and production departments to improve financial accuracy and reporting efficiency.
• Participate in ERP system maintenance, reporting enhancements, and process improvements.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our growing manufacturing organization. The Staff Accountant will support the accounting team by maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with month-end close, inventory accounting, cost accounting support, and ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and enjoys working cross-functionally with operations, purchasing, and production teams.

QUALIFICATIONS SUMMARY:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
• 2–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing or industrial environments
• Understanding of GAAP and basic cost accounting principles
• Experience with ERP systems
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• CPA designation or progress toward CPA is a plus
