Job summary

NOW CFO is conducting a private search on behalf of an independent insurance agency in Oklahoma with offices in Ardmore and Oklahoma City. We are seeking a dependable Staff Accountant/Bookkeeper to own day-to-day accounting operations in a small business environment.

The role covers full-cycle AP/AR, payroll processing, month-end close, bank reporting, and collaboration with the external CPA. Onsite work in Ardmore, OK and Oklahoma City, OK is required, with confidentiality and reliability being

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience.
• Strong computer and cloud-based software proficiency.
• High level of confidentiality and professionalism.
• Adaptable and able to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Process full-cycle accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Ensure agency bill checks are processed and sent to carriers by the 15th of each month.
• Handle commission processing and resolve payment discrepancies.
• Perform account reconciliations and bank reporting.
• Pay bills and manage vendor relationships.
• Process payroll twice monthly.
• Support month-end close and tax season with CPA.
• Collaborate with external CPA during tax season (1099s).
• Correct CSR reports as needed.

Job Summary: NOW CFO is conducting a private search on behalf of an independent insurance agency in Oklahoma with offices in Ardmore and Oklahoma City. We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Staff Accountant/Bookkeeper to own the day-to-day accounting operations of the agency. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in a small business environment, takes pride in keeping things running smoothly, and brings reliability and confidentiality to everything they do.

Responsibilities

• Process full-cycle accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Ensure agency bill checks are processed and sent to carriers by the 15th of each month
• Handle commission processing and resolve payment discrepancies
• Perform account reconciliations and bank reporting
• Pay bills and manage vendor relationships
• Process payroll twice monthly
• Support month-end close
• Collaborate with the external CPA during tax season including 1099 preparation
• Correct CSR reports as needed

Reporting & Operations

• Run financial and operational reports for Producers and firm leadership
• Set up usernames and system logins for staff
• Provide administrative and operational support as needed

Must Have Qualifications

• 3-5 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience
• Strong computer and cloud-based software proficiency
• Adaptable, dependable, and able to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously
• High level of confidentiality and professionalism

Nice to Have Qualifications

• Experience with Applied Epic (cloud-based agency management system)
• Insurance agency industry background
• HR management experience including benefits enrollment and retirement plan administration
