Job summary

Talentify seeks a Staff Accountant in the North Las Vegas area to support monthly closings and balance sheet reconciliations, with emphasis on payroll and casino accounts.

You will prepare journal entries for review by Controllers, assist with banking tasks, and help ensure on-time financial reporting while upholding internal controls and asset safeguarding.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
• Knowledge of accepted accounting practices and principles
• Knowledge of auditing practices and principles
• Knowledge and experience of related computer applications: Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, accounting software (Great Plains preferred)
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a staff accountant role

Responsibilities

• Review and complete assigned monthly balance sheet account reconciliations with emphasis on payroll- and casino-related accounts
• Prepare adjusting monthly journal entries for review and posting by Financial or Gaming Controller
• Prepare recurring monthly journal entries by monthly close deadlines for review and posting by Financial Controller or Assistant Controller
• Collaborate with Casino Controllers to ensure accuracy of entries in gaming-related balance sheet accounts
• Assist with daily banking tasks
• Ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met
• Prepare financial management reports as assigned
• Establish and monitor accounting control procedures
• Review current procedures and recommend areas for process improvement
• Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities
• Follow all company policies and procedures
• Safeguard and track company assets
• Ability to bend and lift up to 25 lbs.

• Assist with daily banking tasks.
