Xplora Search Group is seeking an accounting professional to support the month-end close, prepare reconciliations, and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP. You will partner with FP&A and other finance teams to deliver timely reporting and drive improvements.

Ideal candidates have 2–4 years of accounting experience, a Bachelor's in Accounting, and strong attention to detail and communication skills.

Job description

  • Support the monthly financial statement close process, ensuring financial transactions are recorded accurately and timely while analyzing financial statements and investigating variances.
  • Prepare, review, and analyze account reconciliations while ensuring compliance with internal controls and applicable reporting requirements.
  • Prepare monthly financial reporting packages, including analysis of current results compared with prior periods.
  • Assist with accounting, analysis, and budgeting activities in partnership with FP&A and other finance teams.
  • Collaborate with accounting, finance, and operational teams to resolve accounting and reporting issues.
  • Work with internal and external auditors as needed and provide supporting documentation.
  • Assist with special projects, process improvements, and the implementation of changes related to accounting standards and regulations.
JOB SCOPE
  • Perform day-to-day activities supporting the monthly financial close and reporting process.
  • Ensure accounting transactions and financial information are complete, accurate, and recorded on a timely basis.
  • Identify and communicate accounting or reporting issues to management.
  • Partner with various departments on accounting-related activities and initiatives.
  • Contribute to financial reporting, analysis, and decision-making through accurate and timely accounting support.
  • Help resolve accounting issues and identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiencies.
  • Exercise sound judgment and initiative when addressing accounting and reporting matters.
  • Participate in departmental and project-level planning activities as needed.
  • Work with minimal supervision while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Position may occasionally require overtime, weekend work, or limited travel.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2–4 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, practices, and regulations, including GAAP and internal control requirements.
  • Ability to prepare and maintain clear, accurate supporting documentation, work papers, and accounting analyses.
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage technology to improve accounting and reporting processes.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage projects and work effectively across multiple departments.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and integrity.
  • Professional demeanor with the ability to build positive working relationships.
