Job summary

Corner Table Restaurants in New York is seeking a Corporate Staff Accountant to support monthly and year-end close, prepare journal entries, and maintain audit trails across restaurant locations. You will reconcile accounts and assist CPA reviews while supervising staff as needed.

The ideal candidate has an accounting or finance degree with 3–5 years of industry experience, strong ERP and Excel skills, and excellent communication abilities for cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance, 3–5 years of industry accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and ERP systems.
• Excellent Excel skills including pivot tables and lookups.

Responsibilities

• Assist with monthly and year-end close and journal entries.
• Maintain audit trails for month-end tasks and bank reconciliations.
• Review general ledger coding with operations and CPA reviews.

THE POSITION: CORPORATE STAFF ACCOUNTANT

• Assist with Monthly and Year-end accounting close.
• Prepare monthly journal entries of prepaids and accruals.
• Maintain accurate and organized audit trail of all month-end related tasks for the company.
• Daily banking reconciliations and credit card transaction review for all restaurant locations.
• Maintain detailed reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts.
• Review and audit accuracy coding of all general ledger coded expenses with the operations team.
• Assist with maintaining accurate files for the accounting department.
• Verify accounts by reconciling statements and transactions on a regular basis.
• Assist in Quarterly & Annual 3rd party CPA reviews.
• Supervise Accounting Staff members as assigned.
• Performs other duties as required or assigned by company senior leadership.

• Excellent Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables and V-lookups)

The base pay range for this position is $85,000-$100,000 per year. The determination of what a specific employee in this job classification is paid within the range depends on several factors, including but not limited to prior employment history/job-related knowledge, qualifications, and skills, etc.
