Job Details

Responsibilities

• Oversee the company's financial and accounting operations, including but not limited to managing inventory and conducting month-end close procedures.
• Prepare and submit sales tax filings, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Prepare, examine, or analyze accounting records, financial statements, or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
• Implement, modify, and document recordkeeping and accounting systems, making use of current computer technology.
• Develop, implement, modify, and document recordkeeping and accounting systems, making use of current computer technology.
• Compute taxes owed and prepare tax returns, ensuring compliance with payment, reporting or other tax requirements.
• Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations, to project future revenues and expenses or to provide advice.
• Report to management regarding the finances of establishment.
• Establish tables of accounts and assign entries to proper accounts.
• Develop, maintain, and analyze budgets, preparing periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A master's degree or CPA designation will be considered an asset.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior accounting role, with proven experience in managing a wide range of financial and accounting activities.
• Thorough knowledge of GAAP and experience with sales tax filings.
• Strong experience with inventory management and month-end close procedures.
• Proven skills in preparing and interpreting profit & loss statements and other financial reports.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strong attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with all levels of the organization.
• Proficiency in using financial software and MS Office.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
