Job summary

Newport Healthcare in Nashville is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our finance team. You will analyze month-over-month P&L trends, ensure accuracy of records, and streamline month-end close processes.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting and 1–2 years of experience, with intermediate Excel skills. Familiarity with D365 and SAP Concur is preferred. Candidates should be able to work 3 days in-office in Nashville.

Qualifications

• Experience with Microsoft D365 and SAP Concur preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyze month-over-month P&L trends and prepare accruals.
• Ensure records and procedures are accurate through verification.
• Identify efficiencies in the month-end close to streamline processes.
• Assist with internal/external audits by preparing backup documentation for PBC schedules.
• Create forms and manuals for accounting staff to enhance efficiency.
• Download/update/post daily bank activity and distribute reports.
• Prepare client and insurance refunds to ensure timely processing.
• Prepare daily cash summary to track financial health.
• Prepare routine closing journal entries for accurate records.
• Maintain monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts.
• Assist in identifying and creating controls for fixed assets.
• Examine accounting records and reports for accuracy and completeness.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the finance team.
