Job summary

Addison Group is seeking an experienced Staff Accountant in the Twin Cities. The role will own core general ledger and month-end responsibilities, reporting to the Controller, in a hybrid Minneapolis, MN setting with weekly onsite presence.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of staff accounting and strong ledger skills, with a bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field. The position offers growth opportunities and potential permanent employment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Staff Accountant or general ledger experience.
• Strong general ledger and month-end close experience.
• Hands-on experience with journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Ability to independently research and resolve accounting discrepancies.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Controller on day-to-day accounting activities and priorities.
• Assist with and own core components of the month-end close process.
• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and GL adjustments.
• Complete balance sheet and GL account reconciliations.
• Perform bank and cash reconciliations and investigate variances.
• Review account activity and resolve unusual transactions.
• Maintain supporting schedules and month-end documentation.
• Assist with financial reporting and month-end packages.
• Support AP, AR, and transactional accounting functions as needed.
• Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and outstanding items.
• Assist with audit requests and documentation.
• Support process improvements and ad hoc projects.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Staff Accountant for an opprtunity with a growing organization in the Twin Cities. This individual will work closely with the Controller and serve as a key right-hand resource within the accounting department.

The Staff Accountant will take ownership of core general ledger and month-end responsibilities while helping keep the accounting function organized and moving forward. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who can step in quickly, work independently, and take meaningful work off the Controller’s plate.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner closely with the Controller on day-to-day accounting activities and priorities
• Assist with and take ownership of key components of the month-end close process
• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and general ledger adjustments

• Organized, dependable, and comfortable managing multiple priorities
• Ability to work closely with accounting leadership while independently owning responsibilities
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
