Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 2+ years of accounting experience.
  • Experience with general ledger accounting, reconciliations, accruals, and month-end close (preferred).
  • Solid understanding of GAAP.
  • Strong Excel skills with large data sets and financial analysis.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support month-end close activities, including preparing and analyzing financial results.
  • Prepare and review balance sheet account reconciliations, researching and resolving discrepancies.
  • Analyze financial activity, investigate variances, and support accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Assist with inventory reconciliations, discrepancy research, and related reserve analysis.
  • Prepare journal entries, accruals, and supporting schedules as part of the monthly close cycle.
  • Maintain fixed asset accounting and reconciliations in accordance with capitalization policies.
  • Research unusual financial activity and coordinate with leadership to resolve accounting issues.
  • Respond to accounting and financial questions in a timely and professional manner.
  • Contribute to development of efficient accounting processes and strong internal controls.
  • Complete required training and perform other related duties as assigned.

  • 2+ years of experience in accounting or a related field
  • Experience with general ledger accounting, reconciliations, accruals, and month-end close processes (preferred)
  • Experience in a decentralized or operationally-focused business environment (a plus)
  • Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Strong technical accounting and reconciliation skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including working with large data sets and financial analysis
  • Ability to understand operational drivers behind financial results and investigate unusual activity
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
