Job summary

Good Game Collective in Utah is seeking a Staff Accountant to run the day-to-day accounting across our partner businesses, reporting directly to our VP of Finance & Accounting. This role is built for long-term contribution, with clear ownership, autonomy, a modern finance stack, and a collaborative team environment.

You will manage the monthly close, reconciliations, and reporting, while supporting audits and lender requests, and driving automation to replace manual steps as we scale.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• 2+ years of accounting experience.
• Solid GAAP knowledge and experience with a cloud-based ERP (Campfire, Sage Intacct, NetSuite or similar).
• Strong Excel skills and real curiosity about using AI to work faster.
• The kind of attention to detail where reconciliations actually reconcile.
• Comfort with change as we grow and shift systems and entity lists.

Responsibilities

• Manage the monthly close across multiple entities: journal entries, accruals, amortization, and reclass and allocation entries.
• Perform reconciliations across bank, credit card, and balance sheet; follow up on items that do not tie.
• Maintain clean, GAAP-compliant general ledgers across all entities.
• Prepare monthly reporting and analysis for leadership and ownership.
• Support audits, lender requests, and compliance needs.
• Automate manual steps in the close process where possible.

We are hiring a Staff Accountant to run the day-to-day accounting across our partner businesses, reporting directly to our VP of Finance & Accounting.

What You Will Own

• The monthly close across multiple entities: journal entries, accruals, amortization, and reclass and allocation entries.
• Reconciliations - bank, credit card, and balance sheet - including tracking down the items that do not tie.
• Clean, GAAP-compliant general ledgers across every business in the family.
• Monthly reporting and analysis for leadership and ownership, working with teams across the company to get the data right.
• Audit support, lender requests, and compliance needs.
• The manual steps in our process and the automation that replaces them.

What You Need

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• 2+ years of accounting experience.
• Solid GAAP knowledge and comfort working in a cloud-based ERP (Campfire, Sage Intacct, NetSuite, or similar).
• Strong Excel skills and real curiosity about using AI to work faster. We use Campfire, Ramp, Claude, and Google Workspace daily.
• The kind of attention to detail where reconciliations actually reconcile.
• Comfort with change. We are growing, and the systems, processes, and entity list will all shift along the way.

Helpful, Not Required

• Multi-entity or full-cycle accounting experience.
• Time in a private equity-backed or multi-site organization.
• CPA licensure.
