Staff Accountant, General Accounting

The Staff Accountant, General Accounting is a core member of the accounting organization, responsible for supporting General Accounting processes and activities while ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with US GAAP. Your Responsibilities On The Team
  • Assist with General Accounting, Fixed Assets, Leases, Homebuilding & Inventory, Accruals, and Allocations processes.
  • Prepare accounting transactions and maintain records, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with US GAAP.
  • Support month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close activities, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
  • Assist in the design and maintenance of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to drive efficiency and accuracy in compliance with US GAAP.
  • Assist with internal and external audits by compiling schedules, documentation, and responses under supervision.
  • Support end-to-end process optimization and automation initiatives that measurably improve operational efficiency, scalability, and compliance.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to support system enhancements, workflow automation, and data quality improvements.
  • Assist in developing cross-functional relationships with stakeholders, including FP&A, Procurement, Operations, Treasury, Internal Audit, and other business partners.
Your Toolbox
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 1-2 years of accounting experience, including public accounting and/or public company experience; real estate and/or construction industry experience preferred.
  • Experience with agentic AI and LLM tools (Copilot / Claude), JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, Essbase, Hyperion, Blackline, Power BI, and/or Alteryx preferred.
  • Familiarity with process improvement frameworks (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
  • Knowledge and/or experience with digital technologies and their impact on the record‑to‑report process including analytical tools, close and reporting tools, and ERP systems.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience working in a SOX‑compliant environment.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP.
  • CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
Physical & Office/Site Presence Requirements

This is primarily a sedentary office position which requires the incumbent to have the ability to operate computer equipment, speak, hear, bend, stoop, reach, lift, and move and carry up to 25 lbs. Finger dexterity is necessary.
