Job summary

Lennar is seeking a Senior Accountant to participate in general ledger accounting and month-end close, with emphasis on accuracy and process improvements. The role supports financial reporting and internal controls across the business.

The candidate should have 2–3 years in public accounting or public company experience, strong communication, and a proactive approach to collaborate with FP&A, Operations, and Audit teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
  • CPA or CPA candidate preferred or in progress.
  • US GAAP knowledge required with strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Excel and Word; JD Edwards, Essbase, Blackline experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with General Accounting, Fixed Assets, Leases, Homebuilding & Inventory, Accruals, and Allocations processes.
  • Prepare accounting transactions and maintain records, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with US GAAP.
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, including journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Assist in designing and maintaining accounting policies and internal controls for efficiency and accuracy.
  • Support internal and external audits with schedules, documentation, and responses.
  • Drive end-to-end process improvements and automation to enhance efficiency and compliance.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to support system enhancements and data quality.
  • Develop cross-functional relationships with FP&A, Procurement, Operations, and Internal Audit.

Senior Accountant

Lennar is seeking a Senior Accountant to participate in all aspects of general ledger accounting and month‑end close process. We’re looking for a candidate who is a future leader with a focus on innovation, teammate engagement, and transformational activities. The candidate will be highly detail‑oriented and have a commitment to driving efficiencies throughout the financial reporting function to enhance the monthly close‑to‑report cycle as well as the internal controls over financial reporting, consistently delivering high‑quality financial data to key stakeholders in a timely fashion.

Your Responsibilities
  • Assist with General Accounting, Fixed Assets, Leases, Homebuilding & Inventory, Accruals, and Allocations processes.
  • Prepare accounting transactions and maintain records, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with US GAAP.
  • Support month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close activities, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
  • Assist in the design and maintenance of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to drive efficiency and accuracy in compliance with US GAAP.
  • Assist with internal and external audits by compiling schedules, documentation, and responses under supervision.
  • Support end‑to‑end process optimization and automation initiatives that measurably improve operational efficiency, scalability, and compliance.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally to support system enhancements, workflow automation, and data quality improvements.
  • Assist in developing cross‑functional relationships with stakeholders, including FP&A, Procurement, Operations, Treasury, Internal Audit, and other business partners.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • Master’s Degree preferred
  • CPA or CPA candidate
  • 2–3 years in public accounting and/or with a public company preferred
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent organizational, management, analytical, decision‑making, and research skills with the ability to prioritize and multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment
  • Proficiency with MS Excel and Word; experience with JD Edwards, Essbase, Blackline
Physical & Office/Site Presence Requirements

This is primarily a sedentary office position requiring the ability to operate computer equipment, speak, hear, bend, stoop, reach, lift, and move, and to carry up to 25 lbs. Finger dexterity is necessary.
