Job summary

Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd. in Miami seeks an accounting professional to provide accounting and analytical support to the Accounting/Finance department, including monthly journal entries and close processes.

The role involves intercompany, consolidation and eliminations entries, month-end reporting, audits, and ensuring compliance. A Bachelor’s degree in accounting and 2 years of accounting experience are required; hospitality experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly general journal entries and provide accounting support during month-end close.
• Prepare intercompany, consolidating and elimination entries.
• Prepare schedules and analyses for quarterly reviews and annual audits.
• Apply accounting principles to analyze financial information for reports and month-end close.
• Ensure financial records comply with policies and procedures; resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare reconciliations for bank and other accounts; support special projects as needed.

JOB SUMMARY

• Provide accounting and analytical support to the Accounting/Finance department.
• Prepare monthly general journal entries, schedules and provided analysis in support of quarterly reviews and annual audits..

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare monthly general journal entries and provide accounting and analytical support to Management during the month end close process.
• Prepare intercompany, consolidating and elimination entries.
• Prepare schedules and analysis in support of quarterly reviews and annual audits.
• Apply accounting principles and procedures to analyze financial information for preparation of financial reports for month end.
• Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
• Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
• Prepare bank reconciliations and other account reconciliations, including prepaid and accruals, for general accounting.
• Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year-end close.
• Ensure accurate, timely, and appropriate recording of financial information.
• Support management with special projects such as the implementation of departmental policies, procedures and controls.
• Perform other job related functions as assigned..

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

EDUCATION

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field of study or any equivalent combination of education and/or relevant experience

EXPERIENCE

• 2 years experience in accounting; combined experience in public accounting and the private sector a plus.
• Hospitality experience preferred..

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

• Must have strong analytical skills, good verbal and written communication skills
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Suite including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and MS Outlook
• High level of proficiency in Excel - knowledge of complex formulas and PowerPivot will be a plus
• Experience with PeopleSoft software or large company ERP systems a plusorganizational skills are necessary due to the nature of compiling and retaining detailed information for audits
• Ability to multitask and to work with large volumes of data
• Multi-currency experience is a plus Ability to work extra hours during month end close and as needed
