Job summary

Core Scientific is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our Finance team in Miami, FL. You will support monthly close, reconciliations, and financial reporting under U.S. GAAP, while helping strengthen internal controls.

The ideal candidate is analytical, proactive, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment, with exposure to core accounting functions and cross-functional collaboration as the company scales.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or related field.
• 1–3 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Foundational knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
• Experience with accounting systems (NetSuite, Workiva, Blackline a plus) and strong Excel skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to work with geographically distributed teams.

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger analyses.
• Support the monthly and year-end close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
• Analyze financial results and investigate variances and trends.
• Maintain compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Assist with external audits and provide supporting documentation.
• Be a versatile team player that can perform various tasks ranging from routine close procedures to ad-hoc projects, including providing support across various departments as well as for external requests (e.g. external audit).
• Learn our system infrastructure and help identify ways to automate routine tasks using AI and modern accounting tools.
• Foster open, respectful, and professional communication directly within the team as well as with co-workers/ teammates and leaders across the organization.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Type/ Expected Hours of Work

This is a full‑time position. General hours and days of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Some nights and weekends may be required.
