The ideal candidate brings nonprofit grant experience, strong GAAP knowledge, and advanced Excel skills to support grant accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting for multiple programs.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably nonprofit
• Experience with grants/government funding or contract accounting
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles
• Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs
• Experience with Financial Edge NXT is a plus
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Manage accounting activities for assigned grants and government-funded programs
• Perform bank, prepaid expense, and balance sheet reconciliations
• Support month-end close and general ledger maintenance
• Ensure GAAP compliance and government contract requirements
• Assist with audit preparation and financial reporting requests
• Analyze accounting data and resolve discrepancies
• Collaborate with program managers and internal departments on contract-related financial matters

This position is ideal for an accounting professional with nonprofit and grant-funded experience who enjoys working in a mission-driven environment.

The Staff Accountant will support contract accounting, reconciliations, month-end activities, and compliance with government funding requirements.

The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, adaptable, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities
