Job summary

Beacon Hill Staffing Group, LLC is seeking a Senior Accountant to provide temporary support in Southern California. The role focuses on month-end close, financial reporting, reconciliations, and audit preparation for a nonprofit organization.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, strong GAAP knowledge, and proficiency with ERP systems such as NetSuite, Sage Intacct or Microsoft Dynamics, with advanced Excel skills to support reporting needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and month-end close experience.
• Experience with general ledger reconciliations, financial reporting, and journal entries.
• Proficiency with ERP systems such as NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar.
• Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP).
• Nonprofit accounting experience is a plus.
• CPA or CPA-track preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries and maintain general ledger accuracy.
• Perform month-end and year-end close activities.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate discrepancies.
• Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Assist with grant accounting and restricted fund tracking.
• Support annual audit preparation and respond to audit requests.
• Analyze financial data and investigate variances.
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and organizational policies.
• Partner with program and finance teams to support reporting needs.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls.

Our client, a mission-driven nonprofit organization dedicated to serving communities throughout Southern California, is seeking a Senior Accountant to provide temporary support during a period of increased activity, assisting with month-end close, financial reporting, reconciliations, and audit preparation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries and maintain general ledger accuracy
• Perform month-end and year-end close activities
