Job summary

Place Showroom is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. We’re looking for someone who is organized, analytical, proactive, and eager to contribute to a fast-paced, collaborative environment while ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the Company’s financial records.

In this role you will support a broad range of accounting functions including journal entries, reconciliations, tax filings, and AP/AR to help maintain GAAP compliance, month-end

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in accounting/finance or related field.
• Minimum 2+ years of professional accounting experience.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel.
• Strong written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries during the monthly close.
• Perform account reconciliations and investigate variances.
• Prepare monthly sales and use tax filings.
• Review employee expense reports for policy compliance.
• Reconcile and manage company credit card accounts.
• Maintain fixed asset schedules and record depreciation.
• Analyze GL activity and resolve discrepancies.
• AP processes and vendor statements; maintain vendor relations.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations including bank reconciliations.
• Respond to employee and vendor inquiries professionally and timely.
• Provide support to the Accounting Manager and Controller as needed.

In this role, you will support a broad range of accounting functions—including, journal entries, expense reporting, account analysis and reconciliations, and AR/AP to ensure efficient daily operations and adherence to GAAP, month end close requirements, and internal policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries as part of the monthly close process
• Perform and analyze account reconciliations and investigate variances
• Prepare monthly sales and use tax filing
• Review employee expense reports for compliance with company policies
• Reconcile and administer company credit card accounts
• Maintain fixed asset schedules and record depreciation
• Analyze general ledger activity and resolve discrepancies
• Accounts payable processes and vendor statement reconciliations. Maintainrelationships with vendors
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, including bank reconciliations, prepaid expenses, and accruals
• Respond to employee and vendor inquiries ina timely, professional, andsolution oriented manner
• Provide support to the Accounting Manager andControlleras needed

Requirements
