LaSalle Network is seeking a Junior Staff Accountant to join our client’s growing accounting team in Lombard, IL. The role focuses on reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close within the mortgage banking sector, with daily operations and close activities supported by the team.

The position offers a 60k-80k salary range with discretionary bonus eligibility, onsite initially with hybrid flexibility after training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 1-3 years of accounting experience.
• Hands-on experience with bank reconciliations.
• Hands-on experience with account reconciliations.
• Hands-on experience with journal entries.
• Mortgage industry experience.
• Power BI experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage the accounting department inbox.
• Perform bank reconciliations and account reconciliations.
• Prepare and post journal entries.
• Assist with month-end close activities (5-day monthly close; ~9-day quarterly close).
• Escalate non-routine accounting issues to appropriate team members.
• Support the Senior Accountant with ad hoc projects and reporting requests.
• Utilize accounting and reporting tools including Encompass, Excel, Power BI.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a Junior Staff Accountant to join their growing accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career accounting professional looking to build upon their experience in reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close activities within the mortgage banking industry.

The Junior Staff Accountant will support daily accounting operations, assist with month-end close, and work closely with Senior Accounting team members on special projects and ad hoc requests.
