Base pay range

$30.00/hr - $32.00/hr

LHH has partnered with a well-established construction company in Irving, TX. They are hiring a Staff Accountant on a contract-to-hire basis. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations and project management. This is a full-time, onsite opportunity paying $30-32/hour. • Perform core general ledger activities, including preparing journal entries, managing accruals, and conducting account reconciliations.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely completion and accuracy of financial data.
• Prepare and maintain detailed account reconciliations and supporting documentation.
• Assist in the preparation of internal financial reports and statements.
• Ensure transactions are properly classified and in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Contribute to the development and enhancement of accounting procedures and internal controls.
• Participate in internal and external audits by providing required documentation and support.
• Handle special projects and respond to ad hoc reporting requests from management.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll, to ensure cohesive financial operations.

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience.
• Working knowledge of GAAP
• Construction industry experience, highly preferred
• Intermediate MS Office skills with advanced MS Excel skills (v-lookups, pivots, formulas).
• Strong analytical problem-solving aptitude with creative solutions, ability to organize work with large amounts of information efficiently, manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both in writing and verbally, with management, vendors
• Experience working in a team environment
