About the Role
A growing, privately held third-party logistics (3PL) provider is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join its accounting team. This is an opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment supporting freight, brokerage, yard management, and drayage operations across North America.
Key Responsibilities
- Post daily bank transactions and A/R cash receipts.
- Code, process, and reconcile daily credit card transactions.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly bank reports.
- Process weekly check runs and month-end entries.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and post related entries.
- Research and resolve issues with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and the general ledger.
- Assist with preparing management reports after month-end close.
- Analyze information by developing spreadsheet reports and verifying data.
- Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
- Collaborate with team members and vendors to resolve billing discrepancies.
- Complete special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Minimum 3 years of accounting experience.
- Experience in the transportation/logistics (trucking) industry preferred.
- Billing and collection experience is a strong plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (V-lookups, Pivot tables).
- Experience with McLeod Software is a plus.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- High customer service orientation and ability to handle confidential data.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrates professionalism, critical thinking, and sound judgment.
