Job summary

Wheatland Tube, a division of Zekelman Industries, seeks a Staff Accountant to support financial reporting for its Warren, OH and Wheatland, PA facilities. The role combines manufacturing cost analysis with accurate month-end close in a collaborative, hybrid environment.

You’ll partner with the Director of Accounting and the Pipe Finance Manager to ensure GAAP compliance, analyze production variances, and maintain FIFO costing across sites while meeting tight deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field from an accredited university.
• 1–2 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting processes.
• Proven analytical and mathematical abilities; proficient in Excel.

Responsibilities

• Assist the accounting team with month end close.
• Provide detailed cost data by extracting and analyzing production information.
• Review daily shift reports and work order confirmations for accuracy.
• Ensure FIFO inventory costs are accurate by audits and overhead calculations.
• Participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual production and variance reporting.
• Assist auditors during annual physical inventory counts and provide requested information.
• Post daily treasury management entries and track AP cash disbursements and payroll accounts.
• Assist with payroll general ledger postings using Workday.
• Support intercompany accounting for cross-charges.
• Complete special projects as assigned.
