Codaray Construction is seeking a Staff Accountant to own the general ledger, close the books monthly, and support forecasting and planning efforts. This hands-on role requires precision and ownership over the close process within a growing construction environment.
You will reconcile accounts, manage WIP, prepare internal statements, and work with ERP and project management systems. Collaboration with the finance team and stakeholders is essential to success.
Serving Mississippi and the Southeast region, Codaray Construction was established in 2017 and combines the construction expertise of industry professionals with high-quality customer service, old-fashioned hard work, and time-tested core values.
Codaray Construction is looking for a Staff Accountant to own the general ledger and close our books accurately and on time, every month. This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in precision and wants ownership over a real piece of the close — not just a seat in a large, siloed department.
You'll run the monthly close, reconcile cash and balance sheet accounts, review and release owner billings, maintain the work-in-progress schedule, and prepare internal financial statements. You'll also support our annual operating plan and monthly forecasting process, and serve as the Finance team's go-to person for the systems we run on every day.
Own the close checklist end to end, keeping Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and the full financial period on a dependable monthly schedule. Reconcile bank accounts and corporate card activity, review the trial balance, prepare correcting entries, and post recurring journal entries.
Prepare our internal financial statements and reports for monthly management meetings. Roll forward the work-in-progress (WIP) schedule, analyze forecasts with Project Managers, and build presentation-quality Excel reporting that tells the story behind the numbers. Assist the Vice President of Finance with the annual operating plan and backlog projections.
Review and release owner invoices, reconcile the billing log to the general ledger, and follow up on aging receivables. Review and approve overhead bills, confirm correct coding, and back up the team during high-volume periods.
Maintain the fixed asset records, capitalize new purchases, and post monthly depreciation. Allocate indirect equipment and overhead costs to projects.
Prepare and file monthly state sales tax returns and schedule timely payments.
Maintain working knowledge of the accounting, ERP, and project management software Finance runs on, and serve as an internal resource who can troubleshoot routine issues and help teammates use these systems well.
Codaray Construction was founded on core values that haven't changed since 2017: integrity, hands-on quality, and a commitment to our people and our clients from conception to completion. As a growing commercial general contractor across Mississippi, we offer the kind of role where your work is visible, your ownership is real, and your growth tracks the company's.
