Job summary

CALPAK, a Los Angeles-based travel lifestyle brand, is seeking a Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting and help maintain accurate financial processes. This role offers exposure to the full cycle in a fast-paced, collaborative finance team.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance with 2–4 years of experience, strong US GAAP knowledge, and proficiency in Excel, Google Suite, and ERP systems such as NetSuite. Nice-to-haves include Power BI and spend-management tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 2–4 years of relevant accounting or finance experience.
• Solid understanding of US GAAP, internal controls, and month-end close.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Working knowledge of Google Suite.
• Experience with spend management platforms such as Bill.com, Expensify or RAMP is a plus.
• Power BI experience is a plus.
• Experience with Shopify and ERP systems (NetSuite is a plus).

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day full cycle accounting operations, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Assist with the monthly financial close process, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations to the general ledger.
• Reconcile bank statements and corporate credit cards monthly.
• Collaborate with accounting/finance and cross-functional teams to maintain and improve processes.
• Assist with monthly financial statements and flux analysis, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
• Assist with ad hoc financial analyses and special projects as needed.
• Provide additional support as needed.

We're looking for a Staff Accountant to support our day-to-day accounting operations and help keep our financial processes accurate and efficient. Key Responsibilities:

• Support day-to-day full cycle accounting operations, including accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Assist with the monthly financial close process, including preparing journal entries, monthly accruals, and reconciling data from various sources and platforms to the general ledger to ensure accuracy
• Reconcile bank statements and corporate credit cards monthly
• Collaborate with the accounting/finance team and cross-functional teams to maintain, improve, and support accounting processes
• Assist with preparing and analyzing monthly financial statements, including flux analysis, ensuring compliance with accounting standards
• Assist with ad hoc financial analyses and special projects as needed
• Provide any additional support as needed

• 2-4 years of relevant experience working in accounting or finance departments
