Job summary

CALPAK, a Los Angeles-based travel lifestyle brand, seeks a Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting and help keep financial processes accurate and efficient.

Ideal candidate has solid accounting foundation, 2–4 years of experience, and willingness to grow within a fast-paced, collaborative finance team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 2-4 years of relevant accounting or finance experience.
• Solid understanding of US GAAP, internal controls, and month-end close processes.
• Advanced knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Working knowledge of Google Suite.
• Familiarity with spend management platforms such as Bill.com, Expensify, or RAMP is a plus.
• Power BI experience is a plus.
• Experience with Shopify and ERP systems (NetSuite is a plus).

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day full cycle accounting operations, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Assist with the monthly financial close process, including preparing journal entries, monthly accruals, and reconciling data from various sources and platforms to the general ledger to ensure accuracy.
• Reconcile bank statements and corporate credit cards monthly.
• Collaborate with the accounting/finance team and cross-functional teams to maintain, improve, and support accounting processes.
• Assist with preparing and analyzing monthly financial statements, including flux analysis, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
• Assist with ad hoc financial analyses and special projects as needed.
• Provide any additional support as needed.

We're looking for a Staff Accountant to support our day-to-day accounting operations and help keep our financial processes accurate and efficient.
