Job summary

Ellison Bakery in Fort Wayne, IN is seeking a Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations, maintain internal controls, and ensure accuracy of financial records. The role collaborates with the Finance team and assists with month-end close and reporting.

Responsibilities include journal entries, reconciliations, audit support, and process improvements. A Bachelor's in accounting/finance and 2–4 years of experience, GAAP knowledge, ERP/software experience, and strong Excel skills

• Prepare audit schedules and provide requested supporting documentation.
• Assist in implementing audit recommendations and improvements.
• Prepare recurring financial reports and analysis for management.
• Assist in variance analysis and explanation of key drivers.
• Support preparation of internal and external financial statements.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and reporting efficiency.
• Support documentation and standardization of accounting procedures.

TheFinancial Accountant is responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting operations and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records. This role will perform account reconciliations, assist with month-end and year-end close processes, support external audit activities, and prepare financial reports to drive informed decision-making. The position works closely with the broader Finance team to maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities

General Accounting
