Job summary

HireLogic Search Group is seeking a Staff Accountant for a private financial services firm in the Miami area. The role supports a small finance team, with leadership enabling proactive improvements and meaningful, steady work.

The successful candidate will have 3+ years of accounting experience, including general ledger and journal entries, and preferably experience in broker-dealer or financial services accounting with regulatory exposure. A proactive, collaborative mindset is essential.

• Experience in broker dealer or financial services accounting is strongly preferred.
• A candidate with solid regulatory exposure is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries and monthly bank and trading reconciliations.
• Support the preparation of regulatory financial reports and related schedules.
• Handle month-end close tasks and maintain fixed asset, prepaid, and accrual schedules.
• Monitor accounts payable and outstanding balances, and review that payments are coded correctly.
• Help with budgets, forecasts, and quarterly consolidating schedules.
• Work with outside auditors as the year-end audit approaches.
• Take on special projects and a bit of everything else, as a small team requires.
