Position: Staff Accountant
Department: Finance
Hybrid Schedule:

At Helen of Troy, we embrace a flexible hybrid work model designed to support collaboration and productivity. For roles eligible for hybrid work, our standard schedule includes in-office collaboration from Tuesday through Thursday, with the option to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays. Any updates to this model will be communicated in advance. Please note that hybrid eligibility and schedules may vary based on business needs and manager expectations.

What you will be doing:
  • Responsible for the integrity of the accounting of all balance sheet and profit and loss transactions in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Prepares journal entries, schedules and analysis in accordance with GAAP for month-end close.
  • Management of customer trade management programs.
  • Compile balance sheet account reconciliations.
  • Create and maintain monthly and quarterly income statement reports.
  • Works with support staff and management throughout the company obtaining information to complete financial statements.
  • Perform income statement and balance sheet variance analysis comparing actuals vs. budget or prior year.
  • Work with internal and external auditors providing supporting documentation as needed.
  • Prepares and validates supporting schedules for SEC reporting.
Skills needed to be successful in this role:
  • Able to balance, prioritize multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent oral and written English communication skills.
  • Able to interact with various levels of management.
  • Office Skills (Filing, Organizational Skills, Presentation Skills)
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in accounting.
  • 1+ years of related experience.
  • Solid experience with MS Office, Word, Outlook, Windows, Acrobat.
  • Knowledge in Accounting, General Ledger, Trial Balance, SEC, Managerial & Financial Reporting.
  • Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
