Job summary

CFS is seeking a Staff Accountant in Chicago to join a team that blends accounting and finance responsibilities. The role offers a hybrid work model after onboarding, with emphasis on collaboration and growth within the company.

You will prepare financial reports, analyze ledger activity, and participate in budgeting and forecasting while developing advanced Excel-based tools. This position supports cross-department initiatives and requires a strong accounting foundation."

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
• Experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, or general accounting preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills with strong analytical and reporting capabilities.
• CPA certification or active pursuit is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain financial reports, analyses, and budgeting support schedules.
• Review and analyze general ledger transactions and account activity for accurate reporting.
• Perform monthly account reconciliations, reviews, and variance analysis.
• Participate in annual budgeting and forecasting processes across the organization.
• Develop and maintain advanced Excel-based reporting and analytical tools.
• Serve as a financial liaison to departments by supporting business needs and financial initiatives.
