Job summary

BHS Corrugated North America is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our accounting team in Charlotte, NC on a hybrid schedule. This role focuses on month-end close, reconciliations, and journal entries in a manufacturing, multi-entity environment.

You will collaborate across departments, support general ledger activities, assist with audits, and help streamline processes while gaining exposure to SAP and ADP in a global operations setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
• 1–3 years of accounting experience including general ledger, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Experience with month-end close in a manufacturing or multi-entity environment.
• Proficient in Excel and ERP systems; SAP and ADP experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries and month-end close schedules.
• Manage prepaid expenses, amortization, and accruals.
• Maintain fixed-asset records and CIP accounting.
• Post payroll entries from ADP and reconcile payroll accounts.
• Assist with financial reporting and account analysis.
• Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory, and intercompany accounting as needed.
• Assist with internal and external audits and maintain documentation.
• Partner with the Tax Manager on tax-related reporting and compliance activities.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiencies.

BHS Corrugated North America is looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our growing Accounting team in Charlotte, NC!

This is a great opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys working with numbers, solving problems, and contributing to a collaborative team in a global manufacturing environment.

Location: Charlotte, NC

Schedule: Hybrid – 3 days in office, 2 days remote

Travel: Up to 20%

Experience: 1–3 years preferred

What You'll Do

• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules for month-end close
• Manage prepaid expenses, amortization schedules, and monthly accruals
• Maintain fixed-asset records, depreciation schedules, and construction in process (CIP) accounting
• Post payroll journal entries from ADP and reconcile payroll accounts
• Assist with financial reporting, account analysis, and identifying discrepancies
• Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory, and intercompany accounting as needed
• Assist with internal and external audits and maintain accurate supporting documentation
• Partner with the Tax Manager on tax-related reporting and compliance activities
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiencies

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
• 1–3 years of accounting experience, including general ledger accounting, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems
• Experience with SAP and ADP is a plus
• Manufacturing or multi-entity accounting experience preferred
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage deadlines, work independently, and collaborate across departments
