Job summary

Hearst Magazines is seeking a Staff Accountant in Charlotte, NC. You will prepare journal entries, assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities, and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy across the brands.

You will support financial reporting, balance sheet analyses, and variance reporting, collaborate with internal partners, help maintain accounting controls, and assist with audits by preparing schedules.

Qualifications

  • 0+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or a related field, including internships, co-op experience, or equivalent experience.
  • Foundational knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP or financial systems is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Collaborative mindset with a willingness to learn and contribute across teams.

The base salary range for this role is$58,000–$70,000. This position isnot eligible for bonus or commission compensation. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, qualifications, and location.
