Job summary

IDR, Inc. in Tennessee is seeking a Staff Accountant to support the financial close cycle and prepare journal entries and reports.

You will analyze financial data, maintain accounting procedures in a retail environment, and help establish control processes. The ideal candidate has 0–2 years of accounting experience, a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and a willingness to pursue CPA certification.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years of general accounting experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; SAP experience is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.

Responsibilities

• Prepare standard and specialized journal entries and financial reports according to GAAP or other regulatory requirements
• Compile and analyze financial data to support accurate ledger entries and business transaction documentation
• Establish, maintain, and coordinate accounting and control procedures
• Support expense allocations, accruals, and routine financial transactions through journal entries
• Post and validate general ledger activity reports in the company's internal system

This role involves supporting the financial close cycle by applying accounting techniques and standard practices, including preparing journal entries and financial reports, analyzing financial information, and maintaining accounting procedures within a retail environment.

Position Overview for the Staff Accountant:
