Job summary

CFS in Smyrna, TN is seeking a Staff Accountant to join the Corporate Accounting team. The role focuses on high-volume monthly journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting the close process.

You will work with auditors, assist with management reporting, and look for process improvements. This position offers exposure to GAAP, large-scale data, and opportunities for career progression into senior accounting roles.

Qualifications

• BS in Accounting required.
• 1–3 years of public accounting OR 1–3 years of corporate accounting experience OR a mix of public accounting and industry experience.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and month-end close processes.
• CPA eligibility or plans to pursue certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly journal entries and account reconciliations on a high-volume basis.
• Assist with the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Own assigned balance sheet accounts and perform detailed account analysis.
• Support financial reporting and assist with preparation of monthly management reporting packages.
• Work closely with internal and external auditors and assist with audit requests.
• Identify and champion process improvement and automation opportunities within the accounting function.
• Heavy data analysis and reconciliation work.
• Support cash management activities, accruals, fixed assets, and general ledger accounting.
