Our client in Austin, TX is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to join the accounting team. The role offers exposure to complex accounting matters, leadership interaction, and a fast-paced finance environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
• Minimum of 2 years of Big 4 public accounting experience required
• CPA preferred; CPA candidates actively pursuing certification will be considered
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting
• Experience with complex accounting transactions and reconciliations
• Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
• Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
• Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with US GAAP
• Support external audits and coordinate requests from auditors
• Perform variance analysis and investigate financial discrepancies
• Maintain and improve internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures
• Assist with technical accounting research and documentation
• Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial reporting
• Support special projects, process improvements, and system implementations as needed
• Contribute to the preparation of management reports and financial analyses
