The Maine Municipal Bond Bank in Augusta, Maine is seeking a Staff Accountant to join the Finance & Accounting team. You will maintain financial integrity for programs, reconciling statements, tracking investments, and preparing reports.

This role involves collaboration with auditors, trustees, borrowers, and staff. Ideal candidates are highly organized, detail-oriented, able to meet deadlines, and proficient with accounting systems and financial reporting.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field preferred
• 3–5 years accounting/finance experience desirable

Responsabilidades

• Prepare and reconcile quarterly financial statements
• Maintain detailed accounting schedules and audit documentation

• Prepare Treasurer's Reports and other financial reports
• Review financial data for accuracy and completeness
• Support the accounting team through cross-training and collaboration

Salary Range: $70,000 - $95,000 annually, depending on experience

The Maine Municipal Bond Bank (MMBB) is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Staff Accountant to join our Finance & Accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys problem-solving, managing complex financial information, and contributing to projects that improve communities across Maine. MMBB, along with the Maine Governmental Facilities Authority and the Maine Health & Higher Educational Facilities Authority, manages more than $7 billion in loans, grants, and investments that support critical public infrastructure and economic development throughout the state.

What You'll Do

As a Staff Accountant, you will play a key role in maintaining the financial integrity of assigned programs and authorities. Responsibilities include:

• Preparing and reconciling quarterly financial statements
• Maintaining detailed accounting schedules and audit documentation
• Recording and tracking investments
• Reconciling accounts and ensuring general ledger accuracy
• Working with auditors, trustees, borrowers, and internal staff
• Preparing Treasurer's Reports and other financial reports
• Reviewing financial data for accuracy and completeness
• Supporting the accounting team through cross-training and collaboration

• Proficient with accounting systems, spreadsheets, and financial reporting
• Knowledgeable in accounting principles and financial operations

A bachelor’s degree in accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent combinations of education and accounting experience will be considered. Three to five years of progressively responsible accounting or finance experience is desirable
