My Ideal Recruiter is seeking a Staff Accountant in Atlanta to accelerate your accounting career. You will own real accounting work across multiple locations, including reconciliations, month-end close, payroll entries, and sales tax.

This role is designed for someone who wants to move into a Senior Accountant seat quickly. You will work with finance leadership and field operations, gaining visibility into how numbers drive business decisions.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• 3+ years of accounting experience.
• Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with accounting software.

Responsabilidades

• Reconcile bank accounts daily and monthly, matching POS sales to deposits.
• Reconcile third-party delivery platforms against POS and bank data, tracking fees.
• Track cash over/short results and work with ops to resolve variances.
• Record journal entries, accruals, and GL activity across locations.
• Prepare location-level P&Ls with variance analysis vs budget.
• Review financial statements for accuracy and suggest corrections.
• Book payroll entries, including taxes, benefits, and deductions with HR.
• Prepare and file sales and use tax returns across jurisdictions.
• Process vendor invoices, payments, and reimbursements with proper coding.
• Support audits and ensure GAAP compliance.
• Partner with managers on budgeting and cost tracking.
• Assist in system implementations and process improvements.

You will join a growing multi-unit restaurant organization where the finance team is lean and your work gets noticed. From day one, you will own real accounting work across multiple locations. That includes bank and sales reconciliations, month-end close, payroll entries, and sales tax. You will work side by side with finance leadership and field operations, so you will see how your numbers drive real business decisions.

If you are sharp, detail-driven, and hungry to take on more, this role gives you the exposure and responsibility to level up quickly.

Location / Work Arrangement

On-site at a corporate office in midtown Atlanta.

• Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday
• Travel: Occasional visits to restaurant locations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile bank accounts daily and monthly, and match POS sales to bank deposits and merchant processor data.
• Reconcile third-party delivery platforms (such as UberEats and DoorDash) against POS and bank records, tracking fees, chargebacks, and payouts.
• Track cash over/short results and work with operations to resolve major variances.
• Record journal entries, accruals, and GL activity across multiple restaurant locations to support month-end and year-end close.
• Help prepare location-level P&Ls with variance analysis against budget and prior year.
• Review financial statements for accuracy and recommend corrections.
• Book and reconcile payroll entries, including taxes, benefits, and deductions, working with HR and the payroll provider.
• Prepare and file monthly and quarterly sales and use tax returns across multiple jurisdictions.
• Process vendor invoices, payments, and employee reimbursements with proper coding and approvals.
• Support internal and external audits and ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls.
• Partner with restaurant and regional managers on budgeting, cost tracking, and financial insights.
• Help shape how the team works through system implementations, automation, and process improvements.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
• 3+ years of accounting experience
• Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with accounting software
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a sharp eye for detail
• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA, or progress toward the CPA (strongly preferred)
• Accounting experience in the restaurant or hospitality industry
