Job summary

ARCO, a Family of Construction Companies, is seeking a dynamic Staff Accountant to join our Atlanta team. You will work closely with the Controller and multiple teams across the organization to ensure accurate financials.

Responsibilities include month-end close, reconciliations, budgeting support, and tax returns, with extensive Excel usage and license management. The role offers growth within a diverse, values-driven culture and a strong benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• 1-3 years of related experience.
• Public accounting experience a plus but not required.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with Vista/ Viewpoint Software is a plus.
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
• Detail oriented and able to work under pressure and strict deadlines.

• Assist in reconciling balance sheet accounts monthly and investigating discrepancies.
• Assist controllers in preparing and monitoring overhead budgets.
• Work extensively in Microsoft Excel, with spreadsheets with complex formulas and Power Query.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly sales and use tax returns for various local and state entities.
• Work with controllers and project managers to obtain and renew the appropriate state and local contractor and business licenses.
• Prepare, post, and reconcile a wide range of journal entries, including job cost accruals and adjustments, ensuring accurate cost allocations, proper period recognition, and overall alignment with company financials.
• Work with controllers throughout the month end close process, supporting the preparation and review of financial statements for multiple entities.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

A Day In The Life
