Job summary

Creekstone Farms Premium Beef LLC in Kansas seeks a Staff Accountant to manage cattle payments, daily USDA market reporting, freight payable processing and general accounts payable processing.

The ideal candidate has an associate degree or equivalent experience (bachelor's preferred), at least two years of accounting experience, and strong analytical and written/oral communication skills with proficiency in MS Word and Excel.

• Associate degree or equivalent experience; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of two years progressively responsible accounting experience.
• Ability to maintain high accuracy under deadlines.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Effective communication, orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Monitor daily cash transactions and approve transfers.
• Process weekly operations expense journal entries.
• Analyze and process credit card receipt transactions.
• Complete and evaluate monthly bank reconciliations.
• Complete weekly CAPEX spending analysis.
• Maintain fixed asset subledger and transactions.
• Serve as backup for other accounting positions.
• Other duties as assigned.

JOB SUMMARY:

An industry leader in premium Black Angus beef seeks a motivated individual looking for an opportunity to put his or her accounting experience to use in a fast-paced environment. This position is responsible for processing cattle payments, daily USDA market reporting, freight payable processing and general accounts payable processing.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Monitor daily cash transactions and approve transfers
• Process weekly operations expense journal entries
• Analyze and process credit card receipt transactions
• Complete and evaluate monthly bank account and balance sheet reconciliations
• Complete weekly CAPEX spending analysis
• Maintain fixed asset subledger and all fixed asset transactions
• Serve as backup for other accounting positions
• Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Associates degree required or equivalent experience, bachelor’s preferred.
• Minimum of two (2) years progressively responsible basic accounting experience.
• Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering information while meeting stringent deadlines.
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.

3. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

4. Strong computer skills (MS Word and Excel)
