Electric Machinery Company, a division of WEG Electric Corp. is seeking a Stacker for the Lamination Team on 1st shift in Minneapolis, MN. The role involves assembling laminated subassemblies for stator and rotor components and working within a team setting.

Responsibilities include operating milling, drilling and grinding equipment, stacking laminations, and ensuring quality in accordance with ISO 9001 standards. Outdoor-lift and safety protocols are part of daily tasks.

Qualifications

High School degree or equivalent (preferred).
Ability to read prints and routing information.
Ability to perform basic arithmetic as needed.

Responsibilities

Assemble laminations, components and subassemblies per work instructions.
Set up and operate milling, drilling, tapping, cutting and grinding equipment.
Operate hydraulic presses and appropriate fixtures.
Stack laminations and assemble components such as rotors and poles.
Adhere to ISO 9001 Quality Standards and OSHA/EPA regulations.

Position: Stacker - 1st Shift

Team: Lamination Team

2 Openings

Primary Objective of Position:

The Stacker role is responsible for assembling laminated subassemblies for stator winding, pole winding, exciter winding and rotor assembly.

Skills Matrix:

The Stacker position is part of the Lamination Team skills Matrix. This position works as a team member utilizing and performing to the Lamination Team skills matrix, which outlines the comprehensive skills in the Lamination Team.

Major Areas of Accountability:

Assembles spider, field poles, armature cores and rotors, including stacking, shrink fitting, grinding, welding, filling, pressing and torqueing.
Sets up and operates various machining equipment to perform milling, drill, taping, cutting and precision grinding.
Sets up and operates hydraulic presses.
Stacks laminations, places followers, drives rivets, drives cage and damper bars, presses laminations.
Reads prints and routing information to determine sequence and method of manufacturing.
Uses fixtures as necessary.
Does charting, maintains inventories of shelf life materials in stacking area.
Works in other areas of the Lamination Team skills matrix, may work in press set up and operation.
Demonstrates a commitment to Continuous Improvement by identifying opportunities in day to day work.
Performs to ISO 9001 Quality Standards and abides to OSHA and EPA regulations.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

High School degree or equivalent (preferred) with 1 year of related manufacturing experience (preferred).
Ability to obtain basic welding certificate.
Ability to perform basic match such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions and decimals.
Ability to be certified in overhead crane, Jib crane and forklift operation.

Physical Requirements:

Routinely lifts and moves objects up to 50 lbs.
Occasionally ascends/descends ladders and stairs.
Routinely works at heights or on platforms.
Occasionally positions self in various works spaces, including low, tight or confined spaces.
Occasionally remains in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods of time.
Routinely uses repetitive motions including the wrists, hands or fingers to operate machinery or tools.
Routinely moves from one work station to another to accomplish tasks.

Salary

$20-$22

Pay Types

Voluntary weekend overtime.

Saturday is paid at time and a half, Sundays are paid at double time!

Job Type

Monday – Friday, 1st shift 7:00a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
