Job summary

Electric Machinery Company, a division of WEG Electric Corp., is seeking a Stacker for 1st shift to assemble laminated subassemblies for stator, pole, and rotor components on the Lamination Team in Minneapolis, MN.

The role requires stacking laminations, operating milling and grinding equipment, and complying with ISO 9001 and safety standards. Overtime opportunities are available and union environment is noted.

Qualifications

• High School degree or equivalent (preferred) with 1 year of related manufacturing experience (preferred).
• Ability to obtain basic welding certificate.
• Ability to perform basic math operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals).
• Ability to be certified in overhead crane, jib crane and forklift operation.

Responsibilities

• Assembles spider, field poles, armature cores and rotors, including stacking, shrink fitting, grinding, welding, filling, pressing and torqueing.
• Sets up and operates various machining equipment to perform milling, drilling, tapping, cutting and precision grinding.
• Sets up and operates hydraulic presses.
• Stacks laminations, places followers, drives rivets, drives cage and damper bars, presses laminations.
• Reads prints and routing information to determine sequence and method of manufacturing.
• Uses fixtures as necessary.
• Maintains inventories of shelf life materials in stacking area.
• Works in other areas of the Lamination Team skills matrix, may work in press set up and operation.
• Suggests improvements for day-to-day work in pursuit of continuous improvement.
