Job summary

Clayton is a leading home builder in the United States seeking team members for production roles in Alabama. The position involves feeding and stacking lumber, measuring and cutting to specification, labeling for forklift transfer, and maintaining a clean work area.

You will support fellow team members in a fast-paced environment while upholding Clayton’s safety standards. Full-time roles include competitive health benefits and a structured approach to growth.

• Feeding and/or stacking lumber into a saw to be cut to a specific size.
• Lifts material repeatedly.
• Verifies cut size using tape measure according to cut sheet.
• Binds finished product together and labels it for forklift operators to take to next station.
• Cleans and maintains equipment and surrounding area.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Assist other Team Members within the department as needed.

Essential Duties

• Feeding and/or stacking lumber into a saw to be cut to a specific size.
• Lifts material repeatedly.

• Cleans and maintains equipment and surrounding area.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Assist other Team Members within the department as needed.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop throughout the day.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs repeatedly throughout the day, as well as other physical duties as needed.
• Must be able to stand and/or walk for 8 hours per day with 2 – 15 minutes breaks in between.
• Must be able to utilize tools.
• Must be able to lift and carry lumber of different sizes and other products.
• Must be able to communicate efficiently and clearly with other Team Members.
• Must be able to learn and follow company procedures and work instructions consistently.
• Must be able to work in an extremely fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to work in extreme temperature.

• Needs to be able to produce a quality and quantity of work which is consistently high.
• Needs to be consistently on time for team meetings and work daily.
• Needs to be consistently inspecting work prior to delivery to another department.

• Need to demonstrate a willingness to help others when needed
