Job summary

Whole Person Care Clinic (WPCC) is seeking a Safety & Stabilization Counselor to maintain a structured, recovery-oriented environment in a medical respite setting. You will work with clients with co-occurring conditions and collaborate with case managers, SUD counselors, and medical staff.

Ideal candidates have SUD treatment experience, trauma-informed approaches, and strong boundaries. The role requires on-site work with a focus on safety, recovery engagement, and documentation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED – Required.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Addiction Studies, or related field – Preferred.
• Certifications: BLS required; Guard Card/PSO preferred or required; CADTP registration a plus.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create a safe, welcoming environment and monitor facility safety.
• Provide recovery-oriented support and harm-reduction guidance for SUD clients.
• Coordinate with medical and behavioral health teams to support care plans.
• Document shift activities, incidents, and client status in the charting system.
• Respond to crises and assist with de-escalation in high-acuity situations.
