Job summary

Whole Person Care Clinic (WPCC) is seeking a Safety & Stabilization Counselor to support medically vulnerable clients in our Medical Respite / Recuperative Care program. You will provide crisis response, SUD support, and coordination with medical and behavioral health teams to promote recovery and safety following hospital discharge.

Ideal candidates have 1 year+ experience in SUD or behavioral health, experience with homelessness, trauma-informed care, and strong boundaries.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in SUD treatment, recuperative care, or behavioral health settings.
• Experience with homeless populations and medically vulnerable individuals is a strong plus.
• Knowledge of recovery principles, crisis intervention, and post-acute care support.

Responsibilities

• Create a safe, welcoming environment for clients using empathy and cultural humility.
• Monitor facility grounds to maintain a safe and orderly setting.
• Observe and report changes in medical or behavioral status to clinical staff.
• Utilize de-escalation and crisis intervention techniques as needed.
